The web page layout is really messed up! / I can't bid -- when I hit "Place Bid" it just sits there and does nothing

I just want to bid on items. What do I do?
There are several steps involved, but it takes only a few minutes:
What are the minimum bid increments?
The minimum amount you must bid changes depending on the current price of the item. The following table shows the bid increments we use.
Please note that it is possible for one bidder to outbid another by less than the minimum bid increment if they have placed a proxy bid. For example, if bidder A bids $8.75 on an item, but bidder B bids $8.74 on the same item, bidder A will still be the winner because his/her max bid is higher, even though it is not 50 cents more than bidder B's $8.74. In the event of a tied bid, the bid placed earliest will win.
For lots with a quantity, the bid increment is divided by the quantity of the lot, rounded to the nearest cent. For example, if a lot has a current high bid of $15.00, and there is a quantity of 10 in the lot, the bid increment would be $1.00 / 10 or $0.10. The minimum bid increment will always be at least $0.01 regardless of the number of items in the lot.
I keep getting outbid! How are people bidding so fast?
In an Auctacity auction, you can specify a maximum bid that is actually higher than the minimum bid of a lot. When you do so, as other bidders try to win the item, we will bid on your behalf up to your maximum amount. This is called proxy bidding.
How do I place a proxy bid?
Check out the diagram of "The Bid Box". Simply type your maximum bid into the "your bid" box, and click "Place Bid." Auctacity will bid the minimum on your behalf up to and including whatever value you enter.
What is a "Bidder Alias"?
The end time of the auction I'm bidding on keeps increasing!
When a bid is placed in the last 3 minutes of an auction, the auction end time is increased by 1 minute. This is to prevent bid sniping, allowing everyone to bid what they think is fair. The end time will only increase when a new bid is placed, not when a user updates his/her max bid.
